Have you seen this? Can you believe this story?! This marriage in England has been annulled after a judge ruled it was not valid. How awful to find out your HUSBAND is your TWIN?! Since I don't have any email to answer, I'll post something here. Let's see...

Well, I've been prepping for my little get-together with the Swov's Christmas Eve. This year we're having everybody come here at noon & party all day. Then we'll head to church where all our kids are in the Christmas program (except Rooster) then back here for more family fun. I just finished cleaning the carpet in our "wreck room" :) with Steve's carpet cleaner. Not bad. I think U.R. would be happy with it. I'm hoping to get the house in order so I can wrap and enjoy the last few days leading up to Christmas.. especially since Bitzky will be here. That reminds me, I've got to get to the grocery. Tomorrow a.m. we're all getting up and taking Daddy to work at 8 a.m. ('cause the stupid truck is acting up) Then, Boogie to school at 8:30. Then, Rooster & I can hit the grocery, head home, and then go pick Boogie up from school when he gets out. Right now, I'm headed off to get Miss Melanie's Christmas present together. I think I'll make a card right quick since I just got new printer ink. While I do that, I'll have to preheat the oven. Craig has a carry-in tomorrow & I'm making fruit pizza for that. One for work and one for us. I don't have to make him lunch since he has a carry-in. So, what have you been up to?

So, I took a ton of pictures at church yesterday. I love the ones of the stained glass art. If I had a better camera, I could get some really cool close ups of the glass! But I still love the ones I got. They are for the newsletter that I'm starting for the church. Well, you might as well say Craig is because he's done so much to get ready for this first deadline. I've been busy with my homework & he's been working hard on this to get me off on the right foot with the new "E-newsletter." The first one will be December 2007...coming up. Wish me luck...I've never done one before. Hopefully, as I get farther in school, I'll be able to apply what I'm learning to my newsletter and my blogs-I know they need help!!

Ok, for those of you who might not be familiar...

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving every year when all the stores have super low prices for those willing to brave the early morning elements and chaos...like me. I love Christmas shopping on Black Friday! Most "Door Busters" begin at 5 a.m. and end by 11 a.m. So, if you snooze, you lose...money, that is.

The challenge every year is first, finding a Thanksgiving newspaper. This is were you find most of the Black Friday ads. They sell out quickly, and if you're celebrating Thanksgiving all day it's hard to remember before they're all sold out. So, if you're serious about this, make plans to get one early Thanksgiving morning.

Then, sometime on Thanksgiving, sort through all the ads, which takes me hours to do. Confer with your shopping partner if you're going with one...which just makes it even more fun.

Draw up a game plan. You've got to attack those doorbusters like you mean it. Anyone who's not in it to win it will be trampled & squashed by the insane shoppers ready to pounce on the deal they came for..sometimes literally. Every year, my mom and I hear rumors from other Doorbuster Shoppers about a fight here or a screaming match there. I haven't had to experience one yet, thank goodness.

The best bet is once you've decided which deals you're after, sort them by priority (which ones can you live without), start time of sale, and geography. If you can do this with your shopping partner I recommend it...even over the phone after each of you has had the chance to make lists.

After this is all sorted out, go in order of priority and start with the ones that begin earliest and work your way through the list. Try to keep in mind if all the sales are in the same general area, you should be able to hit each one fairly quickly..and remember, the later you arrive, the longer the lines are. So, plan to have to wait.

Another idea for long lines..if shopping with a buddy, one could get in line right away before shopping while the other goes with the lists to grab everything and bring it back to the one in line. If there's still time left, the other one that has been waiting could go browse around while the other stands in line.

Other Black Friday tips:

wear layers, it's usually bitter cold at 4 a.m. & you might have to line up outside of a store for a while, but by noon it might be much warmer
pack for it-water, advil, small shoulder purse that can fit under a layer
plan to stop for coffee or something before you start, (get up even earlier?!)
write out your list and make two copies
bring cellphones or walkie talkies
wear comfortable shoes-this is not a beauty contest & it's 5 a.m. give yourself a break!
order a wake up call, watch the commercials-lately, the Doorbuster stores have been offering an online sign up for free wakeup calls
double check the ads, some stores will show an awesome deal, but when you look closer, each store is only required to carry a minimum number of this item with no rain checks..if the minimum is less than 20, you might need to reconsider shopping there
bring your sense of humor, just have fun-if you don't get the item you were looking for, chill-you'll find something else or pay a little more for the same item later

Apparently, the folks at University of California, Davis, have found out that some species of squirrels are much less defenseless than previously thought. When confronted by rattlesnakes, they heat up their tales, and the rattler detects this heat via infrared sensors. It's confusing to the snake & the squirrel can escape. I don't know if any of you remember my Pastor, Robert Bohlmann? He's our home Pastor & married us. Anyway, after 40 years, he has retired. The week after he & his wife, Myrna retired, they both hit the road in an RV that they bought just for this occasion and headed to Alaska! They have been planning this trip for years! Anyway, they are on their trip right now & are blogging as they go (when they get to a spot where they can log on to the internet). It is amazing to see & hear about their trip. They've got some awesome pictures! The scenery & wildlife up there is just unreal. It's crazy to think of them being so far away! I hope they have an awesome trip & pray for their safe return in September as planned. When they get back they will get to sit with us (the congregation) every Sunday at church. That'll be different!! But in a good way!

I am loving their discoveries, like: A Stand By Me Festival, 2 story outhouses, a roadrunner named Nedley, and the smallest church (a pocket church-hello!!). They even have a whole section on Muffler Men which I haven't read into yet, but I am intrigued.

It looks like they rely on readers submitting found tourist attractions and sightings. I got this email today. Bright Star School is a school in Kenya that Jan Hinkle (fellow church member) started back in 2003.

Please read and pray:

Jan Hinkle wrote the group who went to Africa with her that she hasn't heard from Pastor John since June 19. Additionally, she told us there was a "cult" in a neighboring slum of Mathare that was killing innocent people, including 2 policemen. So the police starting tearing down houses to find these people. Many innocent people were killed or lost their homes. Consequently, she is concerned about Pastor John, as we all are now that we're aware of the situation.

Betty asked that we place Pastor John, his family and the entire Bright Star School children and faculty in our prayers. Please pray they be kept from harms way. Also, please pray for a speedy return to peace and order.

Now that they can fly I have to be fast. I stuck my camera out above the car door Sunday after church to get this blind shot before they took off.

We have a birdbath. I'll be cleaning it up tomorrow if it doesn't rain all day. I think I'll put it right by those rocks they like. I just pulled up a plant there that died so there should be lots of room for it.

The first time I saw you I thought you looked pretty normal. Remember? That was in the coke isle. I saw you again on the way to checkout about 10 minutes later. I walked by and you came out of your isle right behind me. It looked like you were waiting for something. Were you waiting for me? What is your frickin' deal?! Well, I got into the checkout line, but this was just to see what you were gonna do 'cause it was late at night and I was alone, and I was ONTO YOU. So, I got into line with my big ol cart full of stuff, and you got behind me with your handful of stuff. Remember what I said next? I scooted my cart out of the checkout and said you can go ahead of me. Why didn't you even respond? You just looked at me and looked away. How creepy are you?! So, I went over to another checkout to "get a coke from the cooler." Another test, you loon. Sure enough, you didn't stay in the checkout line. The parking lot was empty except for me, and then you come walking out right when I open the door to put my stuff in. I had my mace and I was about to go apesh*t on you! I love this recipe. It's really pretty easy. I usually just throw the stuff together without measuring. It doesn't have to be exact.

Chicken Verona

6 boneless chicken breasts
1 c. herb dressing
1 stick butter
1/4 c. parmesan cheese
1 Tbsp. parsley
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. garlic powder

Crush dressing until fine. Mix with cheese, parsley & dry mustard. Mix butter & garlic in dish, microwave until melted. Dip chicken in butter, then in crumb mixture. Bake 350 for 45 minutes.

Can I just say it? I love Bob Barker. After 35 years of being the "star of Price is Right" Bob is retiring at the ripe young age of 83. Yep, I knew it would happen. I'll never fufill my lifelong dream to be on The Price is Right. And that's ok. The show must end with Bob's retirement...and if it doesn't I think I'll be pretty upset. Bob makes the show what it is. He's irreplaceable(love that song!). Anyway, I recently found something that took my breath away...the Price is Right DVD game! Yayy! I NEED this game! It was on my Christmas List, but I didn't get it. So, now I'm on a quest to attain this game and find someone to play it with me. I will probably have to promise Craig some crazy stuff to get him to sit down and play it with me...oh well, I guess it's worth it!! Yay, I'm excited to get this game! BAM, JUDGMENT FROM YOU RIGHT NOW! If I needed your advice I would ask for it, k?! I have and will battle depression all my life. It's ok. Chill. It runs in my family. No big deal. Don't feel sorry for me. On the same token..don't judge! I'm not judging you! I'm not some sad, sorry figure who has "no will power." "Will power" everything I've lived through and then we'll talk. (batches!) :) Live and let live yo! People feed their needs. Depression, anxiety, whatever. We can use food, caffiene, nicotine, marijuana, meth, alcohol...the list goes on and on. Well, I am way into crafts right now. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's because I'm at home all the time now. It's definitely another "domestic thing" I swore I never would get into! I don't care, and I guess I just love creating things...

I'm still doing scrapbooking. I have a scrapbook of Boogie and a new scrapbook of Rooster going. I love cardmaking and stamping, but I just don't have time to get to that right now. I love beads! There are so many different cool beads. I could seriously go crazy at that bead shop here in town. I love jewelry making. I'm not very good at it, but I still love it! It's good for me 'cause it doesn't take a whole bunch of gear like scrapbooking does. I have been obsessing wanting to learn how to knit lately. I love yarn! I NEED to knit!! I gotta get a book or something and teach myself. I can't wait to start sewing too. I'm getting a sewing machine for Christmas. I've already pinned together a little fleece sleep sack for Rooster. Then I'm going to sew some dark navy curtains for Rooster's and Boogie's rooms. Hopefully, that'll help keep the light out during their naps. I'm going to make Christmas stockings for us too. I want to get some fleece or felt and put them together. Then I want to cut out some cool shapes out of different colors and hand sew them on. I'm thinking I'll do cutouts of mittens and snowpeople and snowflakes, cute easy stuff like that. I painted some really basic things for Rooster's nursery this time last year. If I had any money I would get into painting.

Well, gotta go bathe my kids!!

Well, I've done this twice now.

The first time I hit enter, and I guess I'm not supposed to do that because all my photos went bye-bye!

So, here they are, and they're out of order, but who cares!!

We had fun on Halloween. Boogie actually got candy this year!

Rooster got teethers and baby food!

He wore the pumpkin outfit during the day on Halloween while

we were out running errands.

He would have worn it prior to yesterday,

but I forgot I even had it!

It was Boogie's-just like everything else he wears!!

I love this song. It touches my heart and brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it. I just think of how lucky I am that I have a relationship with Jesus to whom I can give all my worries and pains. It says, "be still my soul." I love that. I always remember that I am who God says I am. I am not my hair(have you heard that song?-whole other blog!). I am not my body. I am not my house. I am not my job. I am not my car. I am not my clothes. I am not defined by anyone or anything but by God. None of this really matters as long as my soul can "be still" when I feel like I'm just gonna lose it.

I used to always ask Craig to remind me, "Hey, what's the name of my favorite song?" We'd sit and think for a few and then one of us would remember it. Anymore, I don't have to ask. It comes to me when I think of it.

I have this dream where I am driving a car and need to stop but I can't.

Boogie is the champ!

Mom has called him that since he was born. Seems like he's just been so good with everything since then!!

Anyway, he was just so sweet today. Probably because he had mama to himself for most of the afternoon. Well, today was flu shot day for Boogie. He talked about it last night and all day today. He wanted a "little brown chocolate sucker" after he got his shot. Well, I took him up there this afternoon after dropping bubba off at Nana's house. We walked all through the hospital and he held my hand. Every so often he would kiss my hand so softly. He's been in a kissing phase lately. Anyway, we got to the waiting room of the dr.'s office. He gets quiet around strangers so he was whispering to me the whole time and kissing me. So sweet. Well, about 10 minutes after we got there the nurse called him back. He reached for my hand and we walked to the back. They showed me where to sit him on the end of table with his legs hanging over. We laid him back and I talked to him about his "little brown chocolate sucker" then he blinked and it was all over. No crying. No whining. We sat him up and pulled up his pants and that was it. The nurses were shocked. Boogie still has yet to cry for a shot of any kind. He's the champ!! So, he got down from the table and blew me a kiss (what a little sweetheart). We went to the checkout and he said, "I got one shot and it tickled!" Then, he got his little brown chocolate sucker. Boy, was that fun! Just what he wanted! Well, we spent the rest of the afternoon together and he was just as sweet as can be. Thank you Boogieboy, Mama loves you so much.
